Introduction to Needle Felting with Marie Jones - Afternoon
Saturday 25th October
14.30pm - 17.30pm
Suitable for beginners or those wishing to brush up on needle felting techniques. You will create a 20cm X 20cm needle felted wool picture with hand stitching (time allowing).
We will focus on how to handle the tools safely and explore the creative use of wool fibres in creating 2D art.
At the end of the session, you will take home your own unique artwork ready for framing.
You are welcome to bring along a reference photo (eg simple landscape).
Marie Jones is a textile artist with a passion for wool crafts.
Her artwork combines wool felting, fabric collage, free motion machine embroidery and hand stitching techniques. She “paints” with wool, a versatile material in all its forms from fleece to yarn. Wool lends itself to artistic expression in the same way as you would use watercolour paints, oils or acrylics. Wet felted or dry felted, it adds a warm, tactile element.
Marie also teaches occasional small group workshops and assembles felting kits for you to explore your creativity too. Available for purchase in the Gallery
