Collection: V & Patrick Hayward
Patrick has done pottery off and on from his school days. Since 2006 it has increasingly has taken over his spare time. He taught children's pottery at Queens Park Arts Centre for 9 years and now tutors an adult evening class, teaches a beginners course and runs monthly full-day throwing workshops for the centre. He is currently on the cusp of changing careers from software to pottery as he ramps up his teaching and making.
V is a mixed-media artist working predominantly with ceramics, wet felt and junk modelling. They also have a career as an Ecoscenographer, designing sets, costumes and puppets for stage with ecological awareness at the heart of all decisions. Having studied Physics and Earth Sciences as well as Theatre Design, their work combines a fascination in geologic, natural sciences and physics phenomenon with traditional storytelling and crafts.
Together, V and Patrick make up the H Collective, making and selling their works side by side. Though they each have a distinct style, they often discuss forms and techniques between them and have even developed a range of their own glazes which they use extensively in their ceramics.
