Collection: Heidi H Studio - Heidi Fenn
I moved to London from Denmark and studied at the London College of fashion as I wanted to explore a bigger world, eventually settling in Buckinghamshire. The Chilterns being an ever-present source of ideas. I often take a picture in my head, that is stored away to be used as a fragment for future use.
I am a felt and fibre Artist, creating jewellery and wall art from pure sheep’s wool and mixed media. To bring my art to life, I embellish my felt with beads and other natural materials such as horsehair. It had a profound effect on me when I found out that farmers were throwing their fleeces away during lockdown. I now use mainly British sourced wool for my art.
My work with concrete jewellery embraces the imperfections inherent in its creation which naturally occurs during casting, ensuring that no two pieces will ever be the same. Gold leaf or glitter enhances the natural textures of the medium, sometimes resembling stars across a dark sky, at others sparkly geodes.
Having grown up in Denmark, I am inspired by the sometimes harsh and rugged landscapes of the north coast, the vibrant light found in Skagen, where 2 oceans meet, and modern contemporary architecture.
